Gifted Minds is Different

  • The aim is to assess and identify your child’s profile of intellectual strengths and weaknesses using an appropriately selected IQ test to help you better understand and cater for specific needs at home and in school. By looking beyond the IQ scores the goal is to help you determine how personal intensities and sensitivities impact in the classroom. Creativity in responses can be observed and creative divergent children whose gifts may be ‘invisible’ in the classroom can also be identified. Specialisation with this population enables acute, empathic assessment, looking for nuances while staying within the protocol. The pace is based on the child’s individual need to reflect, or to go faster. These are skills that have been acquired over twenty-five years of studying and getting to know these children and it is a true delight working with your child.

  • The Gifted Minds Psychologist is not a clinical psychologist and does not diagnose mental health disorders or learning difficulties. However, she does have a great deal of experience working with twice exceptional, neurodiverse and neurodivergent individuals and is very careful to build rapport and gain trust when working with these clients.

  • Our strength is in helping identify and understand areas of ability while deepening knowledge of the impact of intensity

“Passion is one great force that unleashes creativity, because if you’re passionate about something, then you’re more willing to take risks.” Yo-Yo Ma

Plant a Tree

Gifted Minds contributes money for one tree per client session to carbon neutral. We have a tract of trees in place in the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor in WA and are delighted to help give back the green.

Indigenous Reading

Gifted Minds donates to the Indigenous Literacy Foundation on a monthly basis with the strong belief that books matter and that books in one's own language are imperative to increase the joy of reading.
